Q - How do I identify items?
A - You can tell that an item is not identified by (a) the item has no color within its border (b) it is not taken by the Interceptors when you return to the main hall. To identify items, you need to recruit Rosalind and go through her additional quest line 14 - Investment in Appraisal Equipment.
Q - How do I recruit Rosalind?
Once you are able to access her shop in Gracesta, buy the first item with an explosion graphic behind it and use it in combat, then return and give "feedback" on the item. You will to repeat this three more times with each additional new item that is available at her shop (two weapons, a grenade you must use as an item in combat, and armor that you must be hit with). You will know if the items was used successfully in combat in order to return and give feedback when there is short scene after combat has finished. Once you have completed this sequence, she will appear as a character in the main Interceptor Plaza. From there, you can recruit her (it may take an additional chapter before you can approach her for recruitment - require further testing).
Rosalind is important to recruit as she can identify some items when they are picked up, she can detect treasure on the minimap and can read relics that you come across.
Q - That damn cat quest, how do you complete it?
In order to complete this quest, you will need to (a) capture four cats in the Gracesta West District - Fighter Town and (b) buy out all of the rats sold by the rat vendor in the upper slave quarters. Once you have completed this, the Buse cat you need to complete the quest can be found wandering around Interceptor Plaza. The four cats are (a) a black cat found in the lower right area of the map that runs very fast (b) a white cat in the lower right part of the map that wanders around the row of windows, (c) a cat that wanders near Rosalind's shop that tends to run over to the signboard when chased and (d) a cat that hides behind the church that does not come out very often. Once you have caught a cat, catching them again drops a coin instead.
